Engineering notes
- Rolls-Royce developed Bespoke Audio in-house instead of using an audio brand, with a brief to put a recording studio's playback room in a car.
- One amplifier drives 18 channels, one per speaker, at 1,300 W. Two cabin microphones detect missing or over-emphasised frequencies and the amplifier corrects them.
- A resonance chamber in the aluminium sill is sized to the bass speaker's response, so the body works as the subwoofer. The Extended wheelbase gets its own tuned cavity.
- 130 kg of insulation, 6 mm acoustic glass and Silent-Seal foam-lined tyres lower the noise floor around the system.
